MCHS offers specialized Post-Basic programmes for practicing healthcare professionals looking to upgrade their skills or move into specialized fields. These programmes are designed to enhance clinical leadership and technical proficiency within the Malawi healthcare system.

Upgrading Requirements

Professional Qualification

A Certificate or Diploma in a relevant health discipline from a recognized institution.

Professional Registration

Evidence of registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Medical Council or Nurses & Midwives Council of Malawi).

Clinical Experience

A minimum of two years of work experience in a clinical setting following initial qualification.

Specialized Pathways

Advanced Diplomas

1 to 2-year programs focusing on specialized clinical areas such as Anesthesia, Ophthalmology, or Intensive Care.

Upgrading Programs

Bridge programs that allow Certificate holders to upgrade to Diploma status through intensive clinical and theoretical training.
