Programme Summary

The Diploma in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine trains Medical Assistants and Nurse Midwife Technicians to deliver safe anaesthesia and critical care services. The programme supports Malawi's surgical and emergency care capacity, with scholarships available through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.

Admission Criteria Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • Qualified Medical Assistant or Nurse Midwife Technician who has served for a minimum of two years.
  • MSCE or its equivalent with a credit pass in English, and passes in Mathematics, Biology and Physical Science (Physics and Chemistry), two of which must be credit passes.
  • Registered with the Medical Council of Malawi or the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
