Programme Summary

The Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine prepares students to become competent clinical officers capable of diagnosing, managing and referring patients across Malawi's district and central hospitals. The programme builds strong clinical reasoning, procedural skill and communication ability, while grounding graduates in the ethical and professional standards expected of clinicians registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.

Admission Criteria Requirements

Normal Entry (Year One)

  • MSCE, IGCSE, or another internationally recognised qualification equivalent to an 'O' Level certificate, with at least six credit passes including English, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • MSCE holders must have obtained a minimum of 4 points in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
  • IGCSE holders require a minimum grade of 'C' in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
  • IGCSE grading interpretation: A+ = 1, A = 2, B = 3, C = 5, D = 7, E/F/G = 8.

Mature Entry (Year Three, 2.5 Years)

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognised and accredited institution with a minimum of two years post-internship experience.
  • MSCE with six credits, four of which must be in English, Biology, Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Registered with the Medical Council of Malawi with a current practicing license.
