Programme Summary

The BSc in Nursing (Upgrading) pathway enables registered nurses and midwives holding a Diploma to advance to degree level. The programme strengthens clinical leadership, research and management capabilities, and equips graduates to take on senior roles in Malawi's public and private health sectors.

Admission Criteria Requirements

Upgrading Entry (3 Years)

  • MSCE with six credits in English, Physical Science/Physics and Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and any other two subjects, with an aggregate of not more than 30 points.
  • IGCSE grading interpretation: A+ = 1, A = 2, B = 3, C = 5, D = 7, E/F/G = 8.
  • Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery (Registered) or Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery Technician with a minimum of three years of clinical nursing/midwifery experience.
  • Registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi with a current practicing license.
